Built around the same high-performance octa-core processor as its bigger sibling, the Video S combines video switching, recording, and streaming capabilities with a fully integrated professional audio mixer. It’s designed for solo creators, video podcasters, and live streamers who need broadcast-grade performance without a complex, multi-device setup.
Video capabilities
The console accepts up to four video sources: three HDMI inputs plus a USB-C port for webcams or RØDE USB devices. You can save five customisable scenes and switch between them instantly, while automatic frame rate conversion handles sources running at different speeds. The HDMI output shows your program feed, preview, or a multi-view of all sources.
Chroma keying, media playback, graphic overlays, and transitions are all controlled from the front panel. An “Inspect” feature lets you preview any input or scene before pushing it live, and intelligent auto-switching can change camera angles based on who’s speaking—handy for solo operators juggling multiple tasks.
Audio features
Two Neutrik combo jacks with RØDE’s Revolution Preamps connect XLR microphones, instruments, or line-level gear. Built-in wireless receivers handle RØDE Series IV wireless mics directly, and Bluetooth provides another input option.
All nine stereo audio channels get APHEX processing—EQ, compression, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser, plus the classic Aural Exciter, Big Bottom, and Compellor effects that give your audio a professional polish.
Connectivity and control
Stream directly to YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB. Alternatively, record to external USB storage with isolated tracks for each source, giving you maximum flexibility in post-production. Network camera support handles up to four NDI inputs and one output via Ethernet, including PTZ control.
The free RØDE Capture app turns your iPhone into a wireless dual-cam source, using both front and rear cameras at once. Remote control, custom scene building, and deeper configuration options are handled through the RØDECaster App.
Designed and manufactured in Sydney, Australia, the RØDECaster Video S is available now.
