Masters of stability, and used in studios the world over, RME have launched a 1U interface with 60-channels of I/O.

The RME Fireface 802 FS features four mic preamps (with combo XLR/TRS jacks for mic, line or instrument connection), as well as 8 TRS line inputs and outputs, extra connectivity is available via four Toslink connectors. The Toslink connectors interface with either ADAT or S/MUX or S/MUX4.

The 802 FS could serve as the heart of your studio, with expansion available, as well as MIDI I/O, AES/EBU and two independent headphone outputs with their own volume control. The headphone outs boast +17dBu so they’ll have no issues powering a wide variety of headphones.

What’s more, the line level outputs are DC-coupled, meaning they can be used to send (CV) Control Voltage for use with synths. The unit itself has an internal power supply, and is connected to your computer via USB 2.0, also having a ‘Remote’ connection for use with RME’s ARC-USB Advanced Remote Control. The ARC-USB helps you control RME’s TotalMix software for monitor control, snapshot control and headphones.

The RME Fireface 802 FS joins a growing family of interfaces for music makers of all skill levels, disciplines and budgets. A reputation built on stability and consistently good products, the RME Fireface 802 FS is in good company.
