Hit'n'Mix's latest update introduces 11 new effects, loopable selections and AI-powered features designed to keep creators in flow state.

Hit’n’Mix has released RipX DAW 8, a major update to the only DAW that treats audio and MIDI as unified elements rather than separate tracks. The latest version builds on the platform’s award-winning stem separation and next-generation audio/MIDI editing with features designed to keep artists immersed in the creative flow.

Most creators know the feeling of getting totally lost in what they’re making. Martin Dawe, Hit’n’Mix CEO and creator of RipX DAW, says it best: “Our vision for RipX has always been about empowering artists with a more natural and human way of interacting with sound. When you’re locked into a project, losing track of time in your DAW, reaching a flow state… This is what makes music human.”

The update arrives following last month’s RipX for iPhone app debut, which brought core RipX tools to mobile with an immersive AR Mode and motion-based sound shaping.

What’s new in version 8:

  • Track Starters: Dynamic musical templates that automatically adapt to scales and chord progressions, offering conceptual starting points for original tracks
  • Chord progression tools: Built directly into Scale & Chords for streamlined harmonic development
  • One-click looping: Any selection can be looped instantly
  • 11 new effects: RipTone, RipTrip, RipVibe, Pitch To Chord, Transient Shaper, Auto-Pan, Hall Reverb, Tape Echo, Shimmer, Bitcrush and Granular
  • New sounds and loops: Expanded built-in library with autogenerated RipLoops and transitions
  • iPhone compatibility: Seamless integration with the mobile app
  • Improved UI: Extended toolbar and cleaner overall interface

RipX DAW continues to stand apart with its unique approach to audio manipulation. Once MIDI and audio enter the system, they exist in Rip Audio format, allowing all editing and effects to be applied regardless of source. The platform offers 6+ tracks of stem/instrument separation, each independently controllable, with further separation into fully editable notes, chords and unpitched sounds. Additional capabilities include sound blending and substitution, the world’s first audio separation sampler, advanced remixing within stereo files, and note and chord recognition for learning songs. RipX DAW PRO adds Audioshop sound manipulation tools, advanced stem cleanup, and Python scripting for complete programmatic control.

Hit’n’Mix is offering 20% off RipX DAW and RipX DAW PRO from 9 December 2025 through 1 January 2026, including upgrades from DAW to PRO.
