Yamaha reveal the new THR-II desktop amplifier series

One of the most important tweaks to this new series is the addition of Bluetooth, letting you play backing tracks or music through your amplifier whenever you please. The THR10II and THR30II Wireless models also boast the nifty inclusion of an inbuilt battery, rechargeable of course, as well as a wireless receiver that you can easily link up with the Line 6 Relay G10T.

Each model in the series – the THR10II, THR10II Wireless and THR30II Wireless – utilise Yamaha’s own VCM amp modelling technology to offer a wide range of tones, with each amp containing three modes – Classic, Boutique and Modern – and eight respective amp styles: Clean, Crunch, Lead, Hi-Gain, Special, Bass, Acoustic and Flat, which offers no modelling and relies on a pure signal. There’s also built-in modulation, reverb and delay effects, a tuner, three-band EQ and a Mobile Editor to adjust your parameters remotely, which is available on both iOS and Android.

If that’s not enough to seal the deal, the Yamaha THR-II series can also double as an audio interface, and is bundled with Cubase AI and Cubase LE to get you started. It’s the perfect option for intermediate guitarists looking to integrate their amplifier into an entry-level recording setup. We’re hearing that these ones should land in stores in a manner of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for them at your local music shop.
