The new trio of plugins combines authentic 4000 Series console modelling with adaptive, profile-based audio analysis.

Solid State Logic has launched its autoSeries plugin family, merging the company’s renowned 4000 Series console emulations with sonible’s AI-assisted audio analysis technology. The collection comprises three plugins: autoEQ, autoDYN, and autoBUS. Each is designed to provide adaptive, profile-based processing, while maintaining the sonic character that has defined countless classic records.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

autoEQ: intelligent equalisation

Built on SSL’s 4K E channel strip, autoEQ delivers the console-accurate curves and analogue character that has shaped albums from artists including Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, U2, and Metallica. The plugin analyses incoming audio and suggests style-matched EQ settings based on the source material, whether that’s individual instruments or specific genres. These profiles serve as starting points that remain fully editable, allowing engineers to maintain creative control whilst benefiting from intelligent suggestions.

autoDYN: adaptive dynamics control

Modelled on the 4K E console’s compressor/limiter and gate/expander sections, autoDYN offers the aggressive compression and precise gating the series is known for. The plugin detects source characteristics and recommends optimal settings for compression, gating, and expansion based on the material, whether drums, vocals, bass, or guitars. This approach helps establish useful starting points quickly, particularly valuable when working across multiple tracks that need cohesive dynamic treatment.

autoBUS: master bus compression

autoBUS draws from the legendary SSL 4000 G console bus compressor—a tool used by engineers like Tom Lord-Alge, Bob Rock, and MixedByAli on records by Springsteen, Nirvana, and Massive Attack. The plugin brings adaptive processing to mix bus and subgroup applications, offering intelligent profiles for full mixes, vocals, guitars, and drum buses. AI analysis tailors compression settings to suit different production contexts and genres, providing optimised starting points regardless of the material. Each plugin in the autoSeries maintains SSL’s commitment to authentic circuit modelling whilst incorporating sonible’s decade of experience in AI-assisted audio processing.

“This new partnership with sonible builds in their powerful AI audio analysis engine to complement our classic SSL processing,” said Enrique Perez, SSL’s GM/CTO.

The autoSeries plugins are available now individually or as a bundle, with an introductory offer running through 26 January 2026. They’re also included in SSL’s Complete Access subscription.
