With a design spearheaded by Master Luthier Patrick James Eggle, the Provocateur recalls the shapes of single-cut models from the 1970s, offering an alternative to the many modern, spec’d-out shred sticks of today. The guitar features a solid mahogany body with a torrefied mahogany neck and an ebony fretboard for a dark, sustain-heavy tone, while a specially designed bridge, hand-inlaid aluminium fret markers and locking tuners aid in creating an eye-catching, reliable machine.
Shergold are offering the Provocateur in two different pickup configurations: the SP01-SD boasts a Seymour Duncan P-90 in the neck position and a Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge, while the SP02-SD is ready to rock with two ’59 humbuckers in the neck and bridge position, with both models featuring coil-splitting on the bridge position via the tone control. There’s also three different finishes to choose from, including Solid Battleship Grey, Thru-Black and Thru-Dirty Blonde.
