The new range consists of a Stratocaster, Telecaster and a Jazz Bass, all made up of select pieces of Ash, which was used prominently by Fender in the production of many of their 1950s models. Ash provides a breathy, natural tone, and also acts as a bit of a relief for players who tend to prefer more dense woods such as Alder or Mahogany.
Take a peek at the new Lightweight Ash range below. The hardware featured on all of these is exactly the same as the regular American Professional series, including the Tim Shaw designed V-Mod pickups, treble-bleed circuits and narrow-tall frets. The Lightweight Ash Tele also features a ‘modern C-to-D’ neck profile, a variation on the regular ‘Deep C’ of the American Professional series.
