Electro-Harmonix announces reissue of Op-Amp Big Muff Pi pedal

The original pedal dates back to the late ‘70s and was popularised by The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan through his use of the pedal on the band’s 1993 album Siamese Dream. The reissue remains faithful to its predecessor, re-creating the original circuitry with the addition of updates such as true bypass switching to further enhance performance.

Controls for sustain, tone, and volume feature on the reissued pedal alongside a tone switch, a 9V battery, and an optional 9V AC adapter.

Corgan spoke to Reverb about the re-release of the Op-Amp Big Muff Pi, detailing how he first discovered the pedal and its subsequent influence on his music. Hear what he has to say and listen to his demo of the reissued pedal in the video below:

Electro-Harmonix is distributed in Australia through Lamberti Brothers.
