Aerosmith’s Joe Perry teases new signature Gibson Les Paul

Taking to Twitter last week, the iconic Aerosmith shredder shared a video of a wall of prototypes to herald the impending release of a new signature guitar, stating – “After working on this guitar with Gibson for close to 3 years, it is finally here! After several decades of playing many different guitars I think this one represents the nearly impossible task of bringing the best of all of them into this new signature model.”

The new guitar, which you can check out in the video below, looks set to be departure from Perry’s former signature Les Paul’s with the iconic American manufacturer, with a single humbucker in the bridge position and a Strat-styled tremolo system. The Goldtop prototype model also appears to only feature two control knobs and no toggle switch, somewhat resembling a more sophisticated version of a Les Paul Jr.

Although Gibson haven’t made an official announcement on the new Joe Perry signature Les Paul, keep your eyes peeled on Mixdown for any updates.
