The AIR XD series are loaded with with upgraded power, Bluetooth stereo pairing and enhanced drivers.
PreSonus has just dropped the AIR XD series, an update to their AIR PA loudspeaker range that’s built for mobile performers, rental companies and installers who need serious output without lugging around massive boxes. The new series covers three full-range models: 10-, 12- and 15-inch, as well as 15- and 18-inch subs.
Full-range speakers are powered by over 1,500W of Class D amplification and hit between 130 and 134 dB SPL, depending on which size you go for. Subs pack 2,000W of Class D power and max out at 130 dB.

PreSonus has specced custom low-frequency drivers with enlarged voice coils right across the board. Bigger coils mean better heat dissipation and cleaner power handling when you’re really pushing them. High-frequency drivers use PEEK diaphragms – it’s a lightweight material that’s incredibly stiff and can handle temperatures up to 250°C without breaking a sweat. This means they stay consistent during long gigs where you’re running hot.
There’s a full-colour 2.6-inch LCD on each unit for tweaking settings and checking levels. DSP presets cover the basics: FOH, stage monitors, speech, music playback, plus a warmth mode. Alongside these presets, there are location settings that compensate for whether you’ve mounted them on a tripod, bracket or flown them. Quick ±10 dB adjustments on the high and low end let you dial things in for the room you’re in.
Full-range models have a three-channel mixer built in with two combo mic/line inputs and a stereo aux input, so you can plug mics, instruments or media players straight in without needing an external desk. All models include Bluetooth with TWS Bridge Mode for pairing two speakers wirelessly – handy for mobile DJs or corporate gigs where you want stereo without cables everywhere.
Subs get adjustable lowpass filters (60–150 Hz), polarity invert, and alignment delay up to 12 metres for dialling them in with your tops. Array presets handle normal, cardioid and endfire configurations, plus there’s a “Mo’ Bass” mode when you need extra thump.
Build-wise, full-range cabinets are composite with fly points and dual-position pole mounts (level or 7.5-degree downward tilt). Subs are housed in rugged wood with ergonomic handles, stacking guides and caster kit mounting built in.
The AIR XD series represents a solid step forward for PreSonus, addressing the practical needs of working sound engineers and mobile performers.
