Mateus Asato is a hugely successful session guitarist.
Neural DSP are pushing the boundaries for guitar plugins. If you don’t know his name, you’ll probably recognise his face, having built a following and career beginning on Instagram. He blends soulful melody, blues and jazz into rocky licks and riffs, making the instrument as a whole look much easier to play than it is.

Today, Neural DSP announce the next volume in their series of Archetype plugins, Archetype: Mateus Asato. Archetype offers users a handful of pedals, amps and cabinets used by the artists, and combines them into a tidy package, usually with an eye-catching and attractive interface.
Mateus’ Archetype plugin includes separate pedal, amplifier and cabinet stages, with 9-band EQ for each amplifier and a Post Effects block, offering tape-y delay and reverb modelled after a classic 80s tape delay unit. The pedal stage has an opto compressor, two overdrive flavours and a modulation unit that can be toggled between classic tremolo, chorus and vibrato tones. The amplifier options have a British and Fender-style option for cleans, with a modern hi gain amplifier for leads. The cabinet section has hundred of cabinets modelled by Neural DSP, and 10 virtual microphones that can be positioned around the selected speaker.
