The latest batch delivers genre-specific sound libraries for house and hip hop producers working on MPC hardware.

Akai Professional has announced fresh expansions for its MPC hardware range, with genre-specific sound libraries across house and hip hop.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The first release, Timeless Glow, takes aim at classic house production with a focus on Chicago’s foundational sound reimagined through contemporary production techniques. Expect punchy vintage drum machine patterns, vinyl-sampled Rhodes and organs, warm analogue synthesisers, and emotive vocal chops designed for deep, soulful productions. The expansion ships with 45 MPC kits, 57 instrument presets, three MPC projects, 471 drum samples, 68 loops, and 238 one-shots.

Infinite Escape ventures into micro and minimal house terrain, developed in collaboration with producer Alexkid. This pack focuses on hypnotic, percussive-driven grooves built from trippy loops, agile sub bass, and detailed textural elements. Producers get access to pared-back beats, tuned and glitchy percussion, warm analogue signal chains, and atmospheric pads suited to crafting underground tracks for extended dancefloor sessions. Content includes 80 MPC kits, 39 instrument presets, three MPC projects, 483 drum samples, 32 loops, and 125 one-shots.

Rounding out the trio, Drift Theory explores experimental hip hop influenced by LA’s beat scene aesthetic. Saturated drums meet dusty synths, warped keys, and vocal textures infused with analogue hardware character and cassette-style degradation. Curated kits and patterns aim to streamline the process of building textured, genre-blending beats with swing and attitude. This expansion contains 50 MPC kits, 42 instrument presets, three MPC projects, 303 drum samples, 34 loops, and 403 one-shots.

All three expansions require Standalone MPC 3.5 or above and are compatible with MPC Key 37, MPC One+, MPC X Special Edition, MPC Key 61, MPC One, MPC Live III, MPC X, and MPC Live hardware.

Each expansion provides production-ready content designed to further creative output, whether you’re creating silky house tracks, minimal grooves, or experimental beat music with plenty of grit.
