From a breakthrough MEMS microphone capsule to a UHF wireless system and an AI-powered podcast editing app, RØDE's 2026 NAB Show lineup is one of its most ambitious to date.
RØDE has arrived at NAB 2026 in Las Vegas with their biggest announcements yet. The Sydney-based audio company used the show to unveil a suite of new products and technologies spanning professional microphone hardware, wireless systems, studio accessories and software – anchored by Sonaura, a new MEMS microphone technology the brand says will underpin the next generation of its pro audio lineup.
Catch up on all the latest news here.
Sonaura: RØDE’s new microphone technology
This is the big one. Sonaura is a studio-grade MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) microphone technology that RØDE developed in partnership with semiconductor manufacturer Infineon, which produces it at its facility in Germany. The capsule measures just 4mm x 5mm, yet delivers an 83dB signal-to-noise ratio and a self-noise of just 11dBA – numbers that put it in pro broadcast-grade territory.
Beyond performance specs, Sonaura is built around a sealed dual membrane design that makes it significantly more resistant to physical shock and environmental conditions than conventional microphone capsules. As Freedman Group Founder and Chairman Peter Freedman AM put it: “What we’ve achieved with Sonaura was once considered impossible. We have always been relentless in our pursuit of delivering the highest quality audio, and Sonaura is not only proof of that unwavering commitment, but a testament to RØDE’s ethos of shattering barriers and crushing conventions.”
Sonaura will roll out across select products in the RØDE and wider Freedman Group lineup, starting with the L1 lavalier from Lectrosonics.
RØDELink II: professional UHF wireless system
RØDELink II is RØDE’s first wireless system to draw on the UHF heritage of Lectrosonics. The system includes two transmitters and a single receiver for dual-channel operation, with each transmitter paired with a broadcast-grade lavalier microphone featuring locking connectors.
The headline feature is 32-bit float on-board recording to microSD, meaning the transmitters can capture audio independently, regardless of how loud or quiet the source. A dedicated timecode I/O port also simplifies audio-video sync in post. The body is rugged metal, and three removable lithium-ion batteries are included, along with a comprehensive accessory kit in a travel case.
A range of timecode and audio cables launch alongside it, including 3.5mm TRS to 5-Pin and BNC options, plus XLR and splitter cables. RØDELink II will have its world preview at the RØDE booth (Central Hall, Booth C9316) and will be available soon.
LPA1 and DS3: two new studio arms
RØDE is also expanding its studio accessories with two new microphone arms designed for different setups.
The LPA1 is a low-profile arm that sits below the camera’s line of sight, useful for streamers and broadcasters who want precise mic placement without anything dominating the frame. It offers 750mm of horizontal reach, 360° rotation, silent repositioning and up to 2kg load capacity, with integrated cable management for a tidy setup.
The DS3 takes a different approach, using a weighted base rather than a desk clamp, so it can sit on any flat surface without mounting hardware. A ball head allows smooth, quiet adjustment, and it handles devices up to 1.5kg. Available in black or white, it features a cork base inlay – a nice touch for both grip and aesthetics. Both arms are coming soon.
PodMic Flag: custom branding for your PodMic
A smaller but handy addition for video podcasters: the PodMic Flag is a customisable branding tool designed specifically for the PodMic. It integrates with the WS14 pop filter, allowing creators to display a logo or artwork with a wrap-around sticker that sits flush for a clean, broadcast-ready look. Coming soon.
RØDECaster Studio: podcast editing app
Developed by RØDE’s UK AI Lab, RØDECaster Studio is a new desktop application for Mac and Windows aimed at podcasters and spoken-word creators. It connects directly with RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo devices via RØDE Cloud, syncing projects automatically so recording and editing stay in one system.
The app uses transcript-based editing, meaning creators can cut audio simply by editing text. AI tools allow words or phrases to be corrected or replaced while preserving the natural tone of the original recording – no re-recording required. A built-in RØDE Assistant handles edits through natural-language commands, from trimming intros to removing filler words. Export presets are optimised for Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube out of the box.
RØDECaster Studio is now available for beta testing at rode.com.
RØDE Capture coming to Android
Rounding out the announcements is that RØDE Capture, its mobile recording app previously exclusive to iOS, is coming to Android via the Google Play store. The Android version will support Direct Connect, allowing Wireless Micro, Wireless GO (gen 3) and Wireless PRO transmitters to connect directly to a smartphone via Bluetooth without a receiver.
