The Music Industries Association, in partnership with NAMM, initially birthed the MIA Awards in order to celebrate innovation and craftsmanship in the gear industry. The instruments and equipment are voted on by both the public and an expert panel of judges, who consider myriad factors including affordability, design, and quality of sound.
Now, for those of you who are a little unsure as to what you should spend your jar full of pennies on, you’ve finally been offered a guiding light. The Music Software of the Year award went out to Steinberg Cubase Pro 8, the Rhythm Percussion Product of the Year award was landed by the Yamaha Stage Custom Birch kid, the Guitar Amplifier of the Year award was given to the Orange Crush 35RT and, finally, the much sought after MusicRadar’s Acoustic Guitar of the Year award was won by the Faith Signature FSGNHSY Honeyed Sycamore.
