Prior to Vedder’s appearance onstage, met to unduly applause, of course, Marr introduced the Pearl Jam frontman as being a “good friend of mine; someone who I’ve admired and who’s been good to me and who’s an inspiration.”
The pair then launched into a rousing rendition of The Smiths’ anthem of late night despair ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out,’ with Vedder’s vocals adding a disctintively ’90s tinge to the indie classic. Check out crowd-shot footage of the performance below:
