Recorded at The Grove Studios in conjunction with producer Greg Wales, Everything Is A-OK will be released on Friday April 3, and marks the first Violent Soho full-length since 2016’s WACO. The band confirmed that they’d be releasing new material in an exclusive interview with Mixdown last year, and released the album’s lead single ‘A-OK’ shortly thereafter (it also notched #69 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2019 – nice).
In a statement accompanying today’s news, lead vocalist and guitarist Luke Boerdam described Everything Is A-OK as an honest reflection of the band’s current state, saying “It doesn’t claim to be anything it’s not: it’s apolitical, slacker, cynical, and trying to connect with people over a shared experience in pointing out society’s failures and the personal shit that follows.”
The band have also shared a new single from the LP, ‘Lying On The Floor’, which is accompanied by a music video. They’re also playing intimate shows at The Tote in Melbourne, The Landsdowne Hotel in Sydney and The Zoo in Brisbane over the weekend to promote the record – of course, they’re already fully sold out.
Everything Is A-OK is set for release on Friday April 3 via I OH YOU – preorder it here.
