After winning over the local head-banging masses with 2013’s self-titled debut – the band’s appetite for chunky riffs, and rattling chord progressions irrepressible – the four-piece has been conquering the wider globe. They were last seen unleashing sizzling sets at this year’s SXSW.
Recorded in January at Coburg’s Phaedra Studios with producer John Lee, As Above, As Below represents a jump into new sonic territory for the band. A greater dynamism in Hannah’s guitar work, alternative rhythm patterns, and more intricate vocal performances from Amy – together these are the culmination of growth as a band.
The new album once again involved the band turning their parents’ house into a fully-functioning studio, yet with new additions, including collaborating with Kram of Spiderbait.
They seem destined to go up a notch in the coming months, the buzz surrounding new single ‘Stranger’ and subsequent East Coast tour, a mouth-watering taster.
