The sessions will be live streamed on the singer’s Facebook page and will not only feature Finn and his band but several guests. The final album recording of 11 songs will take place in one three hour session and will then be released on Friday September 1 with the title Out Of Silence.
Finn has maintained a steady use and interest in the internet as a way to share music, having previously released webcasts of performances from as early as 2001, as well as live streaming rehearsals with Crowded House during the lead up to their shows at the Sydney Opera House late last year.
“I like the sense that you can see the songs develop a little bit,” said Finn to New Zealand’s The Spinoff. “There might be an opportunity to let the songs be exposed in less than finished form so people see them unfolding and by the time we get to the last one, everything’s super well arranged and good, people will already know the songs a little bit and will enjoy seeing them get to that stage.”
