The clip follows the band as they stroll across various Victorian locations, including abandoned buildings, paddocks, orchards and the beach. Directed by James Thompson and shot on super 8, the hazy, lo-fi aesthetic suits the track’s slightly retro, slightly chilled but very endearing vibe.
The acoustic guitar jangle, violin and reverberant vocal recall late period Go-Betweens, and the band’s explanation that the song’s themes are of “brutal honesty, romance and patience”, certainly fit that comparison.
