Hailing from his 2015 release Glamorous Damage, Gum has encountered the likes of Pitchfork, NME and Stereogum and has been apart of the long list of 2015 Australian Music Prize.
Watson’s visual experience for ‘Elafonissi Blues’ follows from the remix of the albums leads single ‘Anesthetized Lesson’, which was done by none other than band mate Kevin Parker. After an intense touring circuit, Watson wrote the song while on holiday.
Elafonissi Blues explores the sentiment ‘claustrophobia followed by bliss’. The blaze of colours and waves of sounds compliment each other, and Alex Aulson (who accompanied the visuals) is to thank for that.
Gum is currently lined up for solo shows around the globe, most notably with label mate Fascinator at the Roxy Hotel in New York City. Recently Gum has been supporting acts like Mac DeMarco and Mini Mansions on their Australian tours
