‘Forced Convalescence’ puts a spritely, upbeat twist on Conor Orbest’s signature songwriting, with Flea’s middle-register bass playing and a gnarly Theodore drum moment driving the track in spectacular fashion. The new track follows on from Bright Eyes’ recent announcement that they’d be sharing a new album this year, as well as releasing a new single ‘Persona Non Grata’.

It’s worth noting that Flea and Jon Theodore have previously worked together in the studio, forming the rhythm section behind The Mars Volta’s for their 2003 prog-rock epic De-Loused In The Comatorium.
We intereviewd Jon Theodore back in 2017 when Queens Of The Stone Age played at Splendour In The Grass – revisit the video here.
