The Mutual Admiration Society was first conceptualised in 1972 when a young Sterling Ball was first introduced to the music of Albert Lee by his father, Ernie Ball. The two became fast friends and fuelled Sterling’s passion for music.
Fast forward to the present day where Sterling has made close friends with the above mentioned artists, and invited them to record an album as a supergroup. The group eventually came together and recorded their album at Gordon Rustvold’s Broken Prop Studio in Fountain Valley, California; produced by Ball, Ferraro, and Cox, engineered by Bill Evans, tracked by Gordon Rustvold, mixed by Rich Mouser, and mastered by Robert Vosgien.
On one hand, The Mutual Admiration Society is an amalgamation of incredible artists who’ve joined forces to record an album together. On the other, it’s a celebration of up to forty years of friendships made through the admiration of each other’s talent, taste and appreciation of music.
