California based act, Deafheaven, known for their hybrid sound of black metal, shoe gaze and post rock, are set to release their next album, ‘New Bermuda’. Formed in 2010, the album will be the band’s third studio album to date.
Recording live to tape at 25th Street Recording in Oakland, ‘New Bermuda’ boasts five new tracks, produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley who has worked with the band on their previous releases.
Lead vocalist, George Clarke has described ‘New Bermuda’ as a exploration of a new destination in life, a nebulous point of arrival and an unknown future where things get swallowed up and dragged into the darkness.
With their last album, ‘Sunbather’ receiving accolades from NPR, Pitchfork and the title of Best Metal Album of 2013 from Rolling Stone, the upcoming album is highly anticipated, with fans eager to hear what the band have been working on.
