Hot off the heels of their acclaimed debut effort In A Restless House, the Melbourne indie collective have once again linked up with producer Malcolm Beasley (Northeast Party House, The Creases) for their second album. ‘Blood’ marks a lyrical departure from the groups previous sound, with frontman Jack Bourke explaining the song to be inspired by the constant grind between working a day job and touring commitments with the band.
Describing the new record as a “natural progression from In A Restless House,” City Calm Down have promised to perform new material on the band’s upcoming national tour spanning six capital cities throughout August and September. With Melbourne soul ensemble and Nick Murphy collaborators The Cactus Channel billed to support the band, the ‘Blood Tour’ is your only chance to see City Calm Down before the release of their new album.
‘Blood’ is available for purchase through I OH YOU here. Tickets for the ‘Blood Tour’ are available from 10am (AEST) on Friday June 16 from citycalmdown.com.au.
