‘Every Open Eye’ is the follow up to the band’s breakthrough album, ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’ which was released in 2013 and received widespread critical acclaim. After spending the last two years selling out venues across the world, Chvrches are set to show the world what they have been working on.
Developed from notebooks that band member, Lauren Mayberry had written, the album is about past heartbreaks and the challenge of overcoming them, being unapologetic and staying true to yourself.
‘Every Open Eye’ is a juxtaposition of the light and the dark, creating a twisted electro-pop sound. Mayberry described the eleven track album as “a middle finger mic drop about not being told what to do”.
