Teens Of Style is the first Car Seat Headrest album recorded with a full band, and features Ethan Ives (bass) and Andrew Katz (drums), and is a sound that is new to the project.
Car Seat Headrest begun as a bedroom project – well, as a car project – as a 17-year-old Toledo set up in his family’s car to record vocals in a soundproof environment in Leesburg, Virginia back in 2010.
He then moved to the ‘burbs outside Seattle where he linked up with Ives and Katz, and drew material from the first three years of the project to compile Teens Of Style. The end result is an ambitious and varied sonic adventure 11 albums in the making.
