The AMEB Online Orchestra is a new project from the organisation, aiming to unite players of all skill levels from across the globe for a collaborative performance of the classic Australian ditty ‘Waltzing Matilda’. Individuals, groups and schools can partake by practising the song, recording a video of the performance, and uploading it to the AMEB website. The final product will then be screened on Wednesday September 12 at Melbourne’s Federation Square.
The orchestra is represented by acclaimed concert pianist Ambre Hammond and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra conductor Benjamin Northey, who are set to lead the performance and provide inspiration for this project, billed as being the first of its kind in Australia.
