As announced on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio, American Treasure is a four-CD set featuring rare live and studio material from throughout Petty’s acclaimed career. Reports suggest the box set was curated by Petty’s wife and daughter alongside Heartbreakers bandmate Mike Campbell and studio collaborator Ryan Ulate.
The news arrives after a mysterious countdown appeared on Tom Petty’s website and sparked much speculation amongst fans. Given the countdown clock won’t end until later tonight, it seems there’s more information on the way, suggesting we’ll have full tracklist details within the next 24 hours.
With a career spanning 40 years, we can only hope more hidden Petty masterpieces will come to light in the future.
