The patented switchable Tube or Silicon Diode Rectification system offers another level of control.
MESA Boogie announced the return this week of a towering icon of modern guitar amplification: the 90s Triple Rectifier™ Standard. Handcrafted in Petaluma, California, using the world’s finest materials, the 150-watt Triple Rectifier brings back the extraordinary power, layered harmonic character, tight low end, and percussive midrange impact that made the original one of the most commanding amplifiers ever created. Introduced in 1992 alongside the groundbreaking Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo Head, the Triple Rectifier amplified the Rectifier concept in every sense. With six power tubes, three rectifier tubes, and an imposing wall of glowing glass, it delivered crushing high-gain rhythm tones with an authority and physical impact all its own. Its massive sonic footprint helped redefine the sound of rock and heavy music, fuelling detuned guitars, aggressive bass lines, and the larger-than-life production style that became the soundtrack for a generation.
Now, more than three decades later and following the return of the 90s Dual Rectifier Standard, MESA Boogie reintroduces its mighty high-powered sibling for players who believe excess is barely enough. Presented in its original Standard Dress, the new 90s Triple Rectifier Standard features a black chassis, chrome Speed knobs, Black Bronco vinyl, black leather corners, a black handle, and a polished aluminum Diamond Plate grille. This unmistakable visual package changed expectations for how guitar equipment could look onstage and in music videos, making the Rectifier as visually menacing as it was sonically unmistakable.
