The 60-watt single-channel amplifier combines vintage-inspired British tone with clever features like switchable wattage and dual volume controls for maximum stage flexibility.
Orange Amps has launched the OR60, a new all-valve guitar amp head that puts quality and straightforward design front and centre. This 60-watt single-channel head is aimed at players after classic valve tone with enough flexibility to handle modern demands, whether that’s studio work or sweaty pub gigs.

Chosen for their extensive headroom and depth, the OR60 features a pair of 6L6 power valves. Orange describes the tone as harmonically rich with a modern edge—clear up top, tight in the lows, and voiced specifically to respond well to boost pedals. It’s designed for players who want to hit the front end hard and hear the amp react accordingly. One particularly smart feature is the dual volume control setup. The second footswitchable volume gives you solo boost or rhythm-lead switching without touching the gain control. This means your core tone remains consistent, no matter if you’re switching between lead and rhythm.
The OR60 also includes switchable output power: 60 watts at 460V or 30 watts at 335V. If you drop the amp to 30 watts, you can push the valves harder at more manageable volumes, which is perfect for smaller venues or studio sessions when you want a saturated tone without rattling the windows. Orange emphasises there’s zero tone compromise when switching between modes.
Dedicated Presence and Resonance controls let you fine-tune the amp’s top and bottom end to match your cabinet or the room you’re playing in. Presence shapes the high-end clarity, while Resonance controls the low-end response—you can dial it in tight for modern metal tones, or open it up for a bigger, more classic sound. There’s also a three-position Bright switch that adds bite and definition, which is particularly useful when switching between guitars mid-set. Pop it on for extra snap with humbuckers or darker-voiced instruments, or switch it off for warmer, rounder tones. It’s a small adjustment that can make a significant impact on stage.
When talking about the OR60, Pepper Keenan said: ”It bounces, chugs great and cuts really well. Love the Presence/Resonance knobs. Sorcery… there’s a lot of intel in here. I can go in any direction. Orange kills, no doubt!’
Orange kept the design deliberately simple, with pic-only controls, valve-buffered effects loop, and the unmistakable orange tolex finish. Built in the UK with premium components, it’s constructed for the road with Orange’s renowned durability.
The OR60 heads to dealers now, bringing its vintage-inspired British valve tone to players across the globe.
