Using the same modelling engine as the TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE, TONEX Plug delivers studio-quality amp and pedal tones in a pocket-sized package. It’s designed for practice, travel, and silent rehearsal: basically, anywhere you need great tone without dragging your full rig around.
Out of the box, you’ll get access to over 40,000 free Tone Models via ToneNET, IK’s tone-sharing platform, plus Premium and Signature Collections if you want to dive deeper.
Built-in Bluetooth pairs with the free TONEX Control app (iOS/Android), so you can browse, edit, and load presets without cables. The app also streams audio from backing tracks, YouTube lessons, or any music app directly to your headphones while you play through modelled amps and effects.
TONEX Plug stores 30 presets across 10 colour-coded banks, with onboard EQ, gate, compressor, delay, modulation, and reverb. There’s also a built-in chromatic tuner with an LED indicator, which is always a convenient bonus.
A 1/4-inch swivel jack and 1/8-inch stereo headphone output handle your headphones, while USB-C connectivity doubles as a high-quality audio interface for recording directly to your computer. The rechargeable battery gives you up to six hours of playtime – plenty of time for a solid practice or travel day.
With this handy unit, you can even profile your amp’ tone in minutes using real guitar signals, not test tones. You can then load those custom Tone Models onto the TONEX Plug and take your exact sound anywhere.
The TONEX Control app handles all parameters in real time, with drag-and-drop editing and integration with Premium and Signature Collections. ToneNET’s library is searchable by song, artist, instrument type, and filters like Most Liked and Top 10, so you can find the exact tone you’re after pretty easily.
TONEX Plug ships in November with the device, USB-C cable, TONEX SE, and AmpliTube 5 SE software. A custom carrying pouch is available separately or as part of a bundle.
