Budget has never looked so good.
Another day, another big Fender announcement: this time, the brand are shedding a light on the crazy new additions to the Squier Contemporary range.
With bespoke appointments such as sculpted heels, roasted maple necks and custom finishes, the latest run of Squier Contemporary models looks to expand on the horizons of the entry-level range. From funky offsets through to Floyd Rose-equipped Super Strats, there’s truly something for everyone here.
Packing twin AQR Atomic humbuckers and Floyd Rose locking tremolos, the Squier Contemporary Stratocaster HH FR certainly steps out to make quite a statement. It features a 22 fret roasted maple neck with a chrome logo and painted headstock, and can be secured in Gunmetal Metallic and Shell Pink Pearl finishes.
If you’re gunning for something a little less shreddy, the Contemporary series also offers two Stratocaster Special models: a hardtail and a tremolo-fitted model. With Squier SQR alnico single-coil pickups loaded in the neck and bridge and finishes such as Sky Burst Metallic, Black, Pearl White and Sunset Metallic on offer, you’ll be in good company with one of these instruments.
For a single-cut alternative, the Squier Contemporary Telecaster RH combines a SQR rail bridge humbucker with an Atomic humbucker in the neck position to unlock a wholly unique assortment of tones. These bad boys feature bound roast maple necks and string-thru-body hardtail bridges with block saddles, with finish options including Gunmetal Metallic, White Pearl and Shoreline Gold.
Consider yourself an offset fanatic? Never fear – the Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST will satisfy all your itches. These eye-catching models take a note out of the Johnny Marr Jaguar playbook with their intuitive toggle switching system, while a stopbar bridge, twin humbuckers and chrome trimmings help to put the icing on the cake – grab yours in either Sky Burst Metallic or the ever-cool Shoreline Gold.
