In addition to the 61-key semi-weighted keybed with aftertouch, the Professional MPC Key 61 boasts 16 RGB velocity-sensitive MPC drum pads with aftertouch and note repeat to be the ultimate music-making machine to go with the powerful 128-track MIDI sequencer and eight audio tracks.

The latter can be controlled via the assignable touch strip controller which can also control effects, filter, and automation.

Speaking of control, the seven-inch multi-gesture colour touch screen is incredibly responsive, as 25 instrument plugins can create more than six thousand sounds.

Also assisting with controls are four assignable Q-LINK controller knobs, a pitch/modulation wheel, and a dedicated transport section.

Onboard is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as an audio interface with premium AD/DA converters and the MPC2 desktop software DAW for Mac/PC.

There is also no need for a computer with 4GB of RAM and a Quad Core Arm Processor, but should you need some connectivity options, they are a plenty.

Class-compliant audio interfaces and MIDI devices are accepted, to go with eight CV/Gate output jacks for modular integration, four discrete line outputs, and two mic/line/instrument inputs with high-end mic preamps.

“Building on the history of powerful sequencing and revolutionary sampling, MPC Key 61 adds the most advanced next-generation virtual instruments and effects to MPC, adding to its arsenal of industry-leading music production tools,” Akai said.

“And now, with the addition of a 61-key semi-weighted keybed with aftertouch, the MPC experience ascends to an unprecedented level of creative interaction and expression, delivering the world’s most powerful and complete standalone workflow.”

The Professional MPC Key 61 is available for preorder now.
