The free update brings AI-powered stem separation to Suite users, direct Splice browser access, and major new features for Push and Move.

Ableton has rolled out Live 12.3 overnight, delivering one of the most substantial updates since the DAW’s version 12 launch. All Live 12 users can download the free update now, with Live Suite users gaining access to built-in stem separation alongside a raft of new production tools and Push enhancements.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

Stem Separation in Live 12 Suite is the headline feature, allowing users to instantly split vocals, drums, bass, and other elements from any audio clip directly within the DAW. It’s the kind of tool that transforms how you approach remixes, edits, and creative resampling—pull a track apart to access its raw materials, then reshape them into something completely new without leaving your session.

Splice integration now embeds the popular sample library directly into Live’s browser. Audition samples from Splice’s catalogue in sync and in key with your project without switching windows, and try the new Search with Sound feature to find samples that complement your existing elements. For producers who’ve been alt-tabbing between Live and Splice for years, this is a significant quality-of-life improvement.

Workflow enhancements include the ability to bounce entire groups in place or to a new audio track, plus a new Paste Bounced Audio function that lets you quickly print variations and create transitions without disrupting your creative momentum. Whether you’re crafting micro-edits or building transitional effects, these tools speed up the resampling process considerably.

The updated Auto Pan-Tremolo device adds easier access to tremolo effects with deeper modulation and rhythmic control, whilst the new Device A/B feature lets you compare mixing tweaks or sound design choices instantly—no more duplicating tracks just to A/B your compression settings.

Live 12 Suite and Standard users with Max for Live gain access to Generators by Iftah, a new pack of intuitive MIDI tools including Sting (adapted from the beloved acid bassline pattern generator) and Patterns for sparking percussive rhythms.

Ableton is offering 25% off Live, Push, and Move until 2 December. All Live 12 users can update to 12.3 for free. Head to Ableton for more.
