Flagship stands bring 360-degree booms, tool-free stand conversion, and locking hardware built for the road.
Drum Workshop (DW) has released its DW 9000X Cymbal Stand family, the latest addition to its 9000X hardware line and, the company says, its most innovative, robust, and durable cymbal stand design to date.
Positioned as flagship hardware, the 9000X stands are built to hold up across any setup, gig, or tour. The range gives drummers 360-degree rotatable boom arms, an AutoLock™ tilter for instant boom adjustments, and a Toothless Tilter with Techlock® paired with ball mounts and L-arms, opening up an extensive range of setup configurations.

A quick-switch clamp lets players swap between 3/4″ tube and 1/2″ cymbal arms at the flick of a switch, converting a stand from boom to straight configuration without additional tools. Cymbal tension is managed through adjustable cymbal seats with captured felts, designed so felts can’t fall off or get misplaced mid-set, while an all-metal Quick Release Wingnut stays mechanically locked onto the stand to prevent it from working loose during a performance.
The cymbal stands join a wider 9000X hardware rollout, which also includes four hi-hat stands, two snare stands, and three tom stand models, all built around the same durability and time-saving design philosophy. Several models in the range are also equipped with DW’s InnerLock™ internal cable height memory system, letting drummers lock in and repeat an overall stand height night after night while top tubes retain independent adjustment, rotation, and collapse. Optional stackable MOD Weights, installed at the tripod base, are also available separately to counterbalance heavier toms, cymbals, and snares for drummers who prefer extra stability on more aggressive setups.
