For decades, the JB humbucker has been a staple across rock, metal and beyond, known for its aggressive midrange and cutting high end. The JB Jr. for Tele keeps that same character while addressing the practical challenges of fitting a humbucker into a Telecaster’s bridge position.
Built as a side-by-side humbucker with a ceramic magnet, the JB Jr. delivers high-output tones without requiring any routing work. The 4-conductor lead wire opens up series, parallel and split coil configurations, giving players flexibility to shape their sound depending on what the track needs.
Each pickup is hand-built in Santa Barbara, California, and is vacuum wax potted to eliminate feedback squeal under high-gain conditions. This construction approach ensures the JB Jr. can handle everything from clean country twang to full distortion without compromising clarity.
The JB Jr. for Tele arrives in Australia in late October 2025, aimed at players who want humbucker versatility in their Telecaster without permanently altering the instrument or dealing with compatibility issues.
The pickup bridges the gap between traditional Tele snap and modern high-output aggression, offering players access to both on the same guitar. Having those iconic JB characteristics available in a drop-in format expands what’s possible with a Telecaster without requiring any permanent modifications.
