Based off the original silhouette of the Vela, Reid’s signature PRS S2 VR Vela features an offset body with sloped contours around the guitars’ V-profile neck joint, optimising the instrument for intricate higher register typical of Reid’s funk-metal fusion in Living Colour.
The PRS S2 VR Vela also boasts a Floyd Rose Series 1000 locking tremolo system for all your dive-bombing necessities, as well as two HFS humbucking pickups, providing an aggressive punch and transparent bass and mids. The S2 VR Vela also features a unique colourful pickguard, designed by Reid himself.
In a statement for PRS, Reid says “I love the way it looks, the way it feels, the way it sounds. I think it’s really meant for the player that is prepared to go all different kinds of places. It’s the kind of instrument that invites people to experiment and just have a good time.”
