Electric Ladyland, Jimi Hendrix's sprawling technicolour opus and ultimate testament to his artistic vision, is getting reissued in a deluxe package this year to celebrate the impact of the record 50 years on.
The Electric Ladyland Deluxe Edition Box Set offers the ultimate package for die-hard Hendrix fans, compiling a version of the album remastered from the original two-track analogue master tapes to achieve the purest sound quality possible. The 180 gram double LP also features another double disc set titled Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes, compiling a number of Hendrix's early demos as well as studio outtakes from the era, including fan favourites such as 'Voodoo Chile,' 'Hear My Train A'Comin' and 'Gypsy Eyes.'
As well as being available in an extensive triple CD format, the Electric Ladyland Deluxe Edition set includes a documentary that covers the sessions, featuring interviews with Chas Chandler, Eddie Kramer and Jimi's bandmates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding.
If that's not enough, the set even boasts a 48 page booklet featuring Hendrix's own poems, drawings, lyrics and mixing notes from the time of the sessions. This one's definitely for the Hendrix super fans - suss out the full deluxe package here.
