The Flaming Lips announce The Soft Bulletin 20th anniversary shows

They'll Hit Up Sydney + Melbourne Later This Year

Yes!! Neo-psychedelic wunderkinds The Flaming Lips have announced a select run of East Coast dates this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1999 technicolor opus The Soft Bulletin.

Wayne Coyne and co. are set to touch down later this year to perform two shows each at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall and Melbourne's Art Centre in September and October, the latter to coincide with the Melbourne International Arts Festival.

Given that it's the first time the band have visited Australian shores in three years, there's bound to be a whole bunch of haggard psych-fiends finding their way out of the woodworks for these gigs. Like much of The Flaming Lips' studio output from the era, The Soft Bulletin definitely holds a special place in the hearts of a lot of music lovers, and we can't wait to hear the whacky record performed front to back in months to come. The hype is very, very real at Mixdown HQ.
