Tourist – Inside Out

London-based producer Tourist shares his fourth studio album Inside Out, alongside the lead single ‘A Dedication’. The 10-track body of work is out now and is a poignant record written in response to the sudden loss of a close friend during the pandemic of 2020.

Inside Out was a difficult yet cathartic experience for Tourist: “It was never a record I had imagined I would write, nor one I would want to again – but the process of creating these tracks was my attempt to make music that comforted me and explored the gamut of emotions one experiences after losing someone.

“Being unable to see others in the aftermath meant that writing music was a healthy way to occupy myself, and as soon as I felt like the record was in tribute to this person – the album really just wrote itself.”

Lykke Li – Eyeye

Written and produced by Lykke Li and long term collaborator Björn Yttling, lovingly mixed to tape by Shawn Everett, Eyeye is an eight-track story about lust, attraction, attachment, and rejection: the landscape of love. The songs are complemented by Themovie; seven short films that neither start nor end, with each film functioning as a visual loop and fragment of a larger story – “concise as a haiku, yet continuing in perpetuity”.

“I wanted the record to have the intimacy of listening to a voice memo on a macro dose of LSD,” Lykke says.

Together, the music and visuals reveal a grander narrative, a story about the eternally returning cycles of love, addiction, relapse and obsession (the album’s title and running time are palindromic). Eyeye is not a return to form; it is Lykke’s final confrontation with the form that has defined her career. It’s a breakup with the breakup album, and the singer’s magnum opus.

“We wanted to capture the beauty and grandeur of a three-hour European arthouse movie, while making something native to modern media,” Lykke says. “The intention is to deliver the full impact of a movie in sixty seconds on a phone screen, which is where most of our emotional experiences happen now anyway.”

RONA. – Closure

Kaytetye producer, artist and DJ, RONA. has released her latest single ‘Feel It Too’, the final track from her anticipated debut EP Closure.

Across three tracks, RONA. explores finding balance and connection in the chaos of life via progressive and meditative dance music. Closure is a reflection on the journey of walking between many worlds, and centring storylines that embody a grounding in Country.

RONA. says of the EP: “Throughout the past few years, I have been constantly pushing to create more and do more – this EP was written in a moment where I was beginning to recognise that stillness and connection is more important. It articulates these moments through a melodic and euphoric journey of place and memory.”
