David Gilmour shares 2016 performance at Pompeii via YouTube

Thank You David, Very Cool!

Back in 2016, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour returned to the Roman ruins of Pompeii to deliver a career spanning performance of epic proportions, chock full with vintage Floyd classics and slow burning guitar solos. Now, you can watch the whole show online.

After performing inside the ancient amphitheater of the ruined Roman town way back in 1971 with Pink Floyd as part of a concert film, Gilmour's 2016 show saw the guitarist return with his full band to deliver a mind-bending two hour set in support of his 2015 solo LP Rattle That Lock. Given that Pink Floyd's initial performance in 1971 was filmed without an audience being present, Gilmour's 2016 performance proved to be the first publicly attended performance at the historic Roman town since 79 AD - a huge feat to say the least.

Being the good guy that he is, Gilmour has now shared the entirety of the performance, which was initially released as a live album and DVD back in 2017, for free via his official YouTube channel. With a setlist featuring the likes of 'Wish You Were Here,' 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond,' 'One Of These Days' and, of course, 'Comfortably Numb,' we recommend you throw it on and soak it all up immediately - watch the whole thing here

In other David Gilmour news, the Pink Floyd maestro is set to auction off many of his famous guitars - including his iconic 1969 Black Strat - in New York next month for charity, stating that "The money that this sale hopefully will raise is going to go into my charitable foundation and will be used to help do some good in this world. If we can do our little bit to help with those larger, global issues, I’ll be a happier person.”

Seriously, how could you hate this bloke?
