Byron Bay chiller Bobby Alu has announced a national tour behind his new single 'Finally,' as well as launching a nationwide callout for a ukulele player to join him as the support act on all dates.
To help launch the tour, Alu has also shared a stripped back acoustic video of the breezy new cut, filmed up at Yama-Nui studios in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, which you can watch below.
In a statement addressing the callout for ukulele soloists to open his upcoming shows, Alu reflects on how playing ukulele connects him to his identity as an Australian-Samoan ruminating that "the ukulele is a really special instrument to me... It was the first instrument I learnt when I was about four - my Mum taught me to play and its always been really significant in helping me to connect with my Polynesian heritage."
If you're keen to jump on tour with Alu, all you have to do it post a video of yourself playing a tune on the uke onto Facebook or Instagram, tag @bobby_alu, your city and #FinallyTour. Applications close Friday 18th May and artists will be announced soon after.
