Black Sabbath Drummer Bill Ward To Auction Gear

Opening today, The Official Bill Ward Reverb Shop will see the ex-Sabbath rhythm keeper auction off an assortment of musical gear used both live and in the studio with the band, including various pieces of historic Black Sabbath memorabilia.

Regarding the sale, Reverb states ‘Key among the offerings in this shop are pieces of gear Ward used during his early heyday when he was setting the template for metal drumming with his unique jazz inflections.’

Ward and Reverb have pinpointed the majority of the items set to be sold to hail from the band’s reign as heavy metal royalty between 1968 and 1980, including Super Zyn cymbals used to record ‘War Pigs’ and a custom hand-painted kick drum used on the 1973 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath tour.

You can view a video showcasing the pieces of gear to be sold, including Bill Ward going into detail about select pieces of gear, claiming “I’m going to miss all of them but you know what? There’s some nice history with all of these. I think that if they’re going to drummers, then to me that warms my heart.”
