Well now it looks like the guitar virtuoso is back in the teacher’s chair, this time teaching us a bit about stage etiquette, and what NOT to do on stage.
A new video from the Generation Axe tour has recently surfaced, showing Malmsteen finish off one of his solo songs, before throwing his guitar across the stage to his guitar tech. One problem is, the guitar tech obviously missed rehearsals, resulting in his beloved Strat bouncing off the hard stage floor.
It isn’t one of Malmsteen’s greatest moments on stage, and left the crew a little red-faced. So if there is anything to learn from Malmsteen’s recent guitar fail, it is to ALWAYS check that your guitar techis capable of catching a guitar… Because not all of us have an endorsee deal and can easily replace our most treasured instruments. Or better yet, don’t throw your guitar.
