Driven by a rock solid bassline and persistent thumping groove courtesy of Lauren Hammel and Fiona Kitschin, ‘The Planet Of Straw Men’ sees Tropical Fuck Storm push their art-punk stylings to new limits, with Erica Dunn’s screeching feedback and Gareth Liddiard’s vocal delivery sounding as scathing as it gets.
The quartet have also released a visual to match the sonic barrage of the new single, offering a hallucinogenic depicition of the group’s chaotic live persona. This one just screams out to be played on Rage at some ungodly hour of the morning – check it out here.
In other news, Tropical Fuck Storm have also announced that they’ve signed with Australian indie powerhouse Flightless Records, joining the likes of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Stonefield, The Murlocs and more. With a new LP on track to be released mid-2019 and the band about to embark on a national tour, it’s fair to say that this year looks set to be another big one for the avant-garde noise making collective.
