They've arrived: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have announced their list of potential nominees for 2020, featuring a selection of trailblazing alternative acts, classic rock 'n rollers, RnB artists and most importantly, The Notorious B.I.G and Kraftwerk.
The Finalists include Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Motörhead and Judas Preist, as well as Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Thin Lizzy and more.
To be announced in January, the winners of the 2020 intake are determined by votes from fans, as well as from a group of artists, historians and music industry members.
In order to be eligible for nomination, the first recording from the artist must have been released at least 25 years ago. This year is the first time The Notorious B.I.G, Soundgarden, Motörhead, DMB and Whitney Houston have been nominated.
Several nominees from previous years missed out on another nomination, including The Smiths, The Eurythmics and Kate Bush.
The induction ceremony into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is set to take place in May 2020 at the Public Hall in Cleveland, Ohio. Don't sweat if you can't make it, HBO will be broadcasting the ceremony later in the year.
Last year's massive Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class included The Cure, Radiohead, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, and The Zombies.
