If you're a bass player in Melbourne, you won't want to miss this. Eastgate Music is hosting a bass clinic with none other than Venezuelan eight-string virtuoso Igor Saavedra - and it's completely free.
Saavedra is widely considered to be a pioneer of the eight-string bass, and is known for being a prominent ambassador of authentic South American bass culture. Using a stripped back playing style without any effects pedals, Saavedra has honed his craft over decades to earn his reputation as a virtuosic eight-string player, even playing alongside the bassists for The Rolling Stones, Megadeth, Metallica and more in 2011 at the American bass exhbitiion, Bass Player Live.
His Melbourne event at Eastgate Music will see Saavedra treat audiences to a live performance and a free bass clinic in a night not to be missed by Aussie bass players.
Igor Saavedra will perform at Eastgate Music in Kew on Tuesday April 3 from 7pm - 9pm. Admission is free, but you can still RSVP over at the event page.
