West Coast multi-instrumental sensation Jay Watson, who plays with both POND and Tame Impala, has announced a new record under the GUM moniker.
Out in the World is set for release via Spinning Top Music, and arrives on Friday June 12. It's Watson's fifth record as GUM, which he somehow found the time to record at his Fremantle studio in between stints playing with Tame Impala and POND. Previous releases from GUM include 2018's The Underdog and 2017's Glamorous Damage, which have seen Watson explore retro psych-rock and Prince-inspired funk using a quirky array of analogue sounds.
To accompany todays news, GUM has also shared the new single 'Don't Let It Go Out', which he discussed in a statement as being "about our modern desire to capture or record and keep every moment. The ease to not only do all this, but then lose it forever down the track inspires and disturbs me."
