'Her Revolution' and 'His Rope' are on streaming services now.
After receiving a cheeky vinyl release in a number of UK record stores last week, two new collaborations between Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and electronic masterminds Four Tet and Burial have now arrived to streaming services.
Out now via XL Recordings, ‘Her Revolution’ and ‘His Rope’ pairs Yorke’s serene falsetto with some characteristically brooding textures from Burial and Four Tet, acting as a stark contrast to the dancier sounds explored by the acclaimed trio on 2011’s double A side ‘Ego’ and ‘Mirror’.
Atop of a ghostly collage of warbling tape loops, soft pianos and vinyl crackle, Yorke paints a bleak portrayal of modern times, eulogising the impact of climate change and social uprising in a way only Thom Yorke can (We are breaking her heart / cracks appearing at the centre/ says all this revolution has such a cost).
