Martin Unveil New John Lennon Tribute Guitar

john lennon.jpg

The guitar, which heavily draws inspiration from the D-28 Dreadnought models that the pop-rock superstar used at the latter end of his career, features Lennon’s infamous cartoon self-portrait. To pay further respect to the widely adored musician, the guitar incorporates a peace sign inlaid on the back of the body – Lennon is also known as a prominent political activist who was, most famously, avidly against America’s involvement in the Vietnam War.

A solid Adirondack spruce top with Vintage Tone System is combined with Madagascar rosewood back and sides for a strong and powerful bass resonance – the back being inlaid with HD-28 style zig-zag peace sign marquetry. The guitar also features small peace signs, a moon and Lennon’s trademark granny glasses depicted in mother-of-pearl. The guitar will put you back roughly $15,900 AUD.
